The Legend Creation Story

Dysfunctional organizations; directionless products; disempowered people.

When we looked at organizations world-wide, we saw far too many people dispirited, disengaged, stressed and feeling unsupported.  They had no control and were floundering in their work.

Alongside this, we saw expensive, badly designed, hard-to-use management tools adding to already high human and organizational costs by perpetuating silos and dysfunction.

An extensive market search revealed nothing compelling that genuinely helped people face their daily work challenges – personal and business.  And when we asked why not we were told – too many moving parts, just too hard, stick with Spreadsheets. And most organizations have done exactly that.

Not good enough. People at work deserve better.  So, starting with a clean slate, we decided to take up this challenge, and build our own solution.

That solution is Legend.

The 3 elements that make up Legend

Legend has three interconnected elements which work seamlessly together so everyone in the business can see their path, understand why their work matters, and perform.  A 100% connected-up approach also means you can start-anywhere and go-anywhere.  After all, they’re your challenges and it’s your journey.

One Ecosystem: The heart of Legend is the Ecosystem which promotes a culture of working together to deliver value. Value can come from anywhere and anyone. By connecting everything up the single ecosystem brings together people, work and data.  By supporting people through ‘connected-conversations’, and their Personal Storyboards, your people build wide-ranging value networks.  By focusing on the ‘Truth in plain sight’, be that organization-focused (e.g. the ‘Enterprise’) or initiative-focused (e.g. a project) it promotes certainty, integrity and alignment of Strategy and Delivery.

One Toolkit:  In a supporting role, the toolkit reinforces connecting-up, in a practical sense. It allows people to transact their work within a highly flexible environment by choosing and using the features they need, and in a way that it supports consistent delivery at all points of the business.  Its data-driven approach supports the best of business process and methods out-of-the-box, including remote and co-located working.

One View:  Data, produced by everyone using the toolkit, streams everywhere and in real-time. It’s the ultimate in enter-once and use-many-times. Stakeholders, managers and staff need data available ‘when they need it’ and in-context to ensure oversight, provide support of their people, move work forward and make decisions. Truth-in-plain-sight is achieved through ubiquitous Storyboards – intelligent, interactive, multi-faceted, and immediately accessible.

Software and services all in the one seamless solution. Data you’ve never seen before now at your fingertips. Who wouldn’t want that!

The Ecosystem is really about your culture of working together. If you decide you want to operate as 1-Organization, with the truth in plain sight, and that all your people can contribute to purpose, direction and value without any barriers, then everything that follows is simple.

The start of this blog is certainly hard-hitting and to a degree that reflects my personal journey. But it kick-started my desire to fix some things that were clearly not working. Sometimes beautiful things come out of tough situations and I’d like to think this is one of those times.
